Our Canoes
The shape of a Campbell Canoe is not just about style. Native American and early Canadian canoe builders spent hundreds of years refining hull shapes to achieve optimum performance on real water.
Campbell Canoes are defined by their higher, curved bow and stern and flowing hull lines. Our designs are not as extreme as those of the original canoes - reflecting how, where and in what conditions we paddle today, but every line and curve is carefully considered to deliver lift, control and predictability.
So why are so many modern canoes flat? Quite simply, flat profiles are easier and cheaper to manufacture, and stack better for transport, storage and showroom display. Those compromises benefit production and retail, not the paddler.
The result of our approach is a canoe that feels calm, capable and reassuring, whether you’re paddling solo, carrying family and kit, touring long distances or running moving water.
Classic lines, not for tradition’s sake, but because they still do the job better.
